Non-stop running water

26/8/2016. Friday night, water still running. Random observations of the day: library lights, a perfectly placed zip on the back of the lady walking in front of me. The bitter taste of yesterday's butternut squash. Resolving the problem of organisation - perhaps there's an organic order to things. Notice that the juice of the berries left on the pan last night, left a much brighter patch of copper pan...

A salad of butternut squash, giant couscous, chicken with lime and ginger,
topped with a yoghurt and mint dressing.

Something off with the alignment here! [14/04/2017, 18:57]

[14/04/2017, 18:51 - this is the trouble with blogger - you can update an entry, and it's not given a new timestamp!]

Catching up with the year...

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight...

Landed in Starbucks, what time was it? Imagining a clock with hands turning rapidly round and round and round. [the time now is 18:32]. Looking above the blur of people wondering about the "next iteration", where humanity's going, technology. Could social engineering be a good thing? Non-verbal information. The power of words. It's another coffee moment.

What would happen if I started building a retrosepctive blog? All the time stamps would be wrong.

What came of the skirt I was going to build from umbrellas?

What could I do with the tracking technology on this thing... Walking rapidly up the road, by the coast one is by the edge, wondering what it is that one might be missing and doesn't know. Feet almost off the ground. To be joyful is not necessarily a literal thing...

Plenty of oil applied to the cogs makes everything run well...

"Problem #3 build a python script to monitor activity on this laptop ⇒ what?"
[imagined speech bubble]

Snip!

Set up desk on a Tuesday, with plots afoot

Looking upon another window
Yesterday, I was thinking about the onset of Autumn, and how the light takes on a more brilliant white, as if it is more of a battle to reach out. The day before, I sorted out all the files I lost and recovered, using a neat little Python script.    Today, 23/8/2016. Set up desk in Waitrose, with a coffee and a cake. Thinking about how to capture the immediacy of a moment, and an idea, as it flits by. It seems they're transient. Right now, sipping the last of the coffee, little bubbles, so many of them, a seeming infinitude of them. Supermarket is emptying out, will look quite conspicuous soon.  A problem and dream list of the day... Reflecting upon 23/8/2016: fluorescent light, giving that unique clinical feel. Clattering and bustle of the exchange of cash and conversation. Food, the weekly shop, sliding along the conveyor belt. Sounds echoing in an emptying shop. Supermarkets make a great temple for thinking in.

Eastbourne, Roses and that Crane...

19/8/2016. I was thinking just yesterday how extraordinary memory can be, I mean, when you hear from somebody from the past, everything comes together. A person can pop up from out of the blue, and dig up all sorts of memories with them. I had a lapsang souchong, and a chocolate muffin. That crane is still out the window.

7.30pm. Making baba ganoush. It does not cease to amaze me how creamy it gets after adding that final ingredient - tahini.

Grange Garden Reflections

[entry written: 20/12/2014] Sitting in Grange Garden with a headache. Trying to write about myself. Irritated by pollen, and things not getting done.

Eastbourne Waitrose, set up desk

[entry written back in 2015] I don't like dating. Good coffee, free with the shopping. Communication - tapestry of threads. Making a book, with pictures and words. How could I lose brain cells after only 2 dates, and on the Internet! How could I be fooled by his lines! How can there exist so many contradictions? Gaining fluency in maths - how long could it take? Eyes move from side to side when I'm trapped.

Roses, heart in the sky last night...

15/8/2016. Yet another beautiful day. Bought roses, flat peaches, and some soda water to get through the heat. Got ahead of myself at the shops, and started packing before I'd paid. I often  wonder how one can keep a diary that is capable of organising itself. I haven't found anything that has the right flow yet. The trouble is, you've still got to organise something, and I haven't come across an app that looks that nice. Last night, the final plane etched a heart in the sky, which reminded me of certain projects I've neglected.
